Sunshine Getaway: Beach Home w/Pool! Near Mayo!

The home is charming and in a wonderful location - end of a street next to a beautiful park. However, pet owners should be aware that there are Sago Palm trees on or near the property that produce seeds toxic to dogs. Being from out of state, I wasn't aware of these toxic seeds or the trees that bare them. These seeds are in the owners yard. My dog ingested one and got very sick during my stay. To the point I was in the emergency room with my dog in the middle of the night. These seeds can cause severe liver failure. The host was responsive once I explained the situation and did waive the pet fee after I requested it. This is important information for anyone traveling with a dog. If you are coming without a dog, the home is one of the best I've stayed in. The master bed is so comfortable and the pool truly is the crown jewel. If you have kids, having the park next door is also super convenient.

The home was the perfect home for our stay; clean, had everything we needed, great location, great communication from Kent and Laura. We will definitely be back!

I was on a working vacation with teenagers and this turned out perfectly for us: the adjacent park and skate park plus the pool kept them busy during the day and we were able to enjoy the beach together in the evenings. The space was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed, and the host was friendly and responsive. Definitely would love to stay again!

Such a lovely home! Very spacious and family friendly, which is important since we have 3 kids that are 4 years and under. The backyard and pool area was gorgeous and you can’t beat the location being right next door to the lovely Sunshine Park, which was a daily visit for us. Thanks so much for everything, Kent! We came for the Florida - Georgia game and wanted to stay in Jax Beach. The house was exactly as described and had everything a bunch of guys in their mid 30s needed. The place was clean, the instructions were simple, and everything worked - what else can you ask from an Airbnb?

We enjoyed the home. The park next door was a bonus.

The stay was wonderful if you’re ever in the Jackson Beach area please consider had a great time lots of access to soccer fields playground skate park tennis courts, and basketball courts

BEAUTIFUL place located in one of the best spots in Jax beach! It’s right by Sunshine Park, not far from A1A. 3 minute drive to Whole Foods and other restaurants. Great spot if you want to head to the beach or find yourself shopping and dining in Jax/Atlantic/Neptune!

My family truly enjoyed our stay at Kent’s Place. Cleanliness is always one of my top priorities when traveling, and this home exceeded expectations. Having access to the washroom was a huge convenience, and my children loved spending time at the pool. We also tried several of the local food recommendations, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a wonderful and relaxing experience for us.

First, know that I am a neat freak and my OCD is always on the alert. So, when I say Kent's place was lovely, clean, and everything he said it would be, well .... it's all that and more. We had our two grandchildren, ages 4 and 1, and they had a blast in the pool (salt water, clean, perfect temp, lovely, private setting) The beach was a short 7 minute drive, plenty of parking (16th and 1st ave). The house had everything we needed, it's well laid out with 4 bedrooms, and everyone had their privacy, and we all had great times in the huge living room and kitchen. Communication with Kent was spot on, accurate and timely .... great job!!! Thanks Kent ... we'll be in touch to rent again next year! ☺

Me and my group loved staying at Kent’s place! The response time was so quick and he was always helpful to our wishes. The place is right next to a huge park - great for outdoor activities. The pool in the backyard was much bigger than expected but the grassy areas was much smaller.

We had a great stay! The home was located near a huge park which is great for kids and of course, close to the beach! The pool was clean and everything was as described! Kent was extremely responsive!

Great Hosts. Great Place. Adjacent to BEACH PARK with all kinds of activities and great walking track. If you are a regular walker, you will have no issue trekking to the beach in the early morning. We absolutely enjoyed the pool. It was great stay.

This stay was perfect for our family vacation. The location was amazing for our little ones as it is walkable to a playground, splash pad, volleyball, basketball and more! The living area in the house was spacious for our family of 8 as well. Very happy with this stay.

Not only did the property match fully and meet expectations as the description, Kent was a great host. Timely responses, offered recommendations, accommodated an early check in! The house was great. Nice location next to the park and close enough to the beach. We stayed here because we stayed at one of Kent's other listings last year and he was very responsive and helpful. He definitely didn't disappoint this time either. I informed him that the grill that was there wasn't working properly in the morning and by the time we got back from the beach, there was a brand new grill sitting there. He seems to always go above and beyond.

We had an amazing experience at this Airbnb. The house was everything we hoped it would be! The pool was great and being so close to Sunshine Park provided entertainment for the kids. We played beach volleyball as a family every night! Easy access to the beach was also terrific! We loved the area so much that we ended up purchasing a home a few streets away!

This was best vacation home ever. We had a great time and being next to the park was a bonus. Kent was the best and responded to my messages promptly. I loved this house, the only thing missing was TV’s in the upstairs rooms. However, it didn’t interrupt our stay because the pool made up for everything. I can’t wait to book again. What a beautiful home! It was a perfect home for a family gathering to celebrate our mom’s 80th birthday. We enjoyed being close to the park and driving / biking distance to the beach.

The house is perfect for people with kids. The park next door is great. I would suggest offering some sort of baby bed. We had to buy one and left it there as we couldn’t take it on the plane. Hopefully it is left there for others to use.

The house was very nice and well stocked! It was not close to the beach at all. That was my fault, I didn’t look into that. We had some issues, spoke to Laura & Elaine and they were very helpful! Having the nice pool in the backyard was so nice! We grilled out & that was so nice having a grill. Very nice host & co host and enjoyed our stay!

My son returned to Mayport after an 8 month deployment, we were looking for a comfortable and relaxing place to stay and were not disappointed! He said “it feels like we are on vacation”. Laura’s listing was as described. The pool was perfectly clear, the house was open & airy, very clean & comfortable. Well stocked with the necessities such as TP, shampoo, hand soap, etc. The house had plenty of extras like pool towels and board games. The beds were comfortable. There is a water treatment plant across the street but it is not problematic or disruptive to being outside. Neighborhood is quiet and we enjoyed walking at the park next door. Overall great location as it’s close to beaches and plenty of restaurants & shops. Laura is a great host! She is a quick to communicate & responsive to questions. 100% would stay here again!

What can I say. Laura was the best Airbnb host I’ve ever had. She allowed my family to check in early as well as check out an hour later. When I reached out to her, the response time was immediate. She is a very attentive host. My family felt at home. I’m looking forward to coming back for a visit and I will definitely rent Laura’s home again. She did not disappoint. I give my stay five stars. This house was amazing

My family and I and pup traveled from York, PA and stayed at Laura’s place for 2 weeks to visit with my son before he left for deployment. Laura is an amazing host! The house is spacious and super clean and the pool and location are awesome (South Beach park is literally steps from the front door). My 4 year old grandson had a blast! I believe we have found our home away from home and cannot wait to stay here again, hopefully early next year when my son returns from deployment. Go Navy!

Laura was very accommodating and even allowed an extra early checkin. The house was in a great location, right next to the park and close to the beach!

The best experience I could've hoped for! My friends and I planned a last-minute (2 days) golf trip due to previous plans getting cancelled. Laura made it seem like we had this trip planned months in advance and that our needs would already be met. 4pm check-in when we were landing at noon? No problem. The house will be ready for you. We show up to a beautifully maintained property that was better than the pictures. How is that possible? The kitchen and living areas were great for a group. The pool was the perfect way to relax after a round of golf. There are a number of walkable restaurants and grocery options nearby. Not walkable, but I highly recommend trivia and the Calabrian chili wings (best I've ever had) at Flask and Cannon. Communication from Laura was great throughout our stay. I'm basically saying... stop reading this review and just book already. We will be back!

This is a beautiful place, walking distance to stores and restaurants. The park next door is a bonus for kids! The pool was awesome to have. Kitchen was stocked, plenty of space. Master shower is awesome!

The kids absolutely loved staying here. The park next door was convenient and lively. The pool in the back was private and the volleyball net and beach/pool accessories were perfect for the whole family. The beach was just a 5 min drive away too! The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The bathrooms were pretty and very clean. We will definitely be back.

Laura’s home was absolutely beautiful. The pictures were exactly how it was. No wide angle lens needed! Laura was very quick to respond and gave me her and her associates personal phone numbers although they weren’t necessarily because she responded immediately to our messages in Airbnb messaging. The home is located right next to a great park. I wish we could have enjoyed the area more as we were here to be close to the Mayo Clinic. With that being said I chose the home for the downstairs bedroom. It has all the properties for my elderly parents. Unfortunately the bed is very high and they had a hard time climbing into it. She did offer access to the garage to get a step stool. My overall experience was wonderful though. Thank you!

Great location with access to an amazing park. House was clean and spacious. Yard is a bit smaller than I expected, and not ideal for pets as the grass is astroturf so you have to take dogs out front on a leash. Very quick to respond to communication. Would recommend this location.

this is an excellent air bnb. the house was spotless, location is great and host is very responsive. there is a wonderful park next door which I would be intrusive but it wasn't at all. very well supplied and very well maintained.
