Firefly: 1930's Cabin. Bikes, BBQ, walk dtn, firepit

We absolutely loved staying here! The location and the cabin was great, and our experience with Laura was even better. Very accommodating and communicative. We would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a cozy getaway!

This is our second time staying at the Firefly. Already looking forward to our next stay. The cabin has such a unique charm & great energy. One of my favorite places that I have ever stayed.

We really loved this place. The location was fantastic within walking distance of downtown Hendersonville. It is not a huge space, but it is perfectly fine for two people. It may not be the best for folks who have some difficulty moving around with the smaller spiral staircase, and the only restroom being upstairs, but it worked great for us. The house has everything you need and a truly cozy feel. The fireplace and large smart TV made the living room a great place to spend time, and the outdoor deck is a great spot in the morning and for our pup to lounge in the sun. The bed was very comfortable and the Bluetooth speaker in the bathroom was a very nice touch. We hope to visit again!

Our first time visiting the area and we loved this little cabin. it was conveniently located and close to town but still felt pretty private. Laura did an excellent job at communicating with us up until the last day. What a great host and what a great place. We had a blast!

Firefly cabin is great. We loved the history of the cabin, its rustic appeal and location. There is a super nice paved path about a block away for a long bike ride or short to long walks. Laura is fantastic with responding back to your questions and giving out suggestions to where to go for food, drinks and hiking.

I'm so glad I found this precious spot and stayed here while I was in town! The house is so unique and peaceful. Even though it's a cabin, certain aspects made it feel like a British cottage and I loved that mix. The tub was awesome and the bed in the master was so comfy. Laura was a wonderful host and made my stay in her home perfect!

Perfect fit for me and my daughter. We settled in immediately. Great location too!

The Firefly checked all the boxes for our trip to Hendersonville! This cute cabin is walkable to town which is so nice after a long car ride to get there. We enjoyed coffee at Southern Streams and a beer at Trailside, all in the company of our golden retriever, Ruby. There were good hikes a short drive away and we enjoyed picking over antiques at Needful Things. The cabin provided a perfect place to wind down each afternoon and evening, and we are grateful for the opportunity to stay! We’ll be back!

My stay at the cottage was lovely. The hosts were super responsive and helpful. Check in was easy, it was very clean and there was fast, reliable WiFi for remote work. The photos are accurate - it really is that charming! The bed was comfortable and I loved having the little porch up front to enjoy the sunny afternoons. It is in a great location, just a few minutes to downtown Hendersonville and very close walk to the Ecusta Trail.

In a short few words this place is AMAZING and was exactly what we were looking for! We loved everything about it. Unfortunately a weekend wasn’t long enough so we hope to go back someday in the future. If you’re someone reading these reviews before booking with hesitation, I’m here to tell you BOOK IT! :-)

This is a cute cabin in a perfect location…close to town yet located on a quiet and secluded street. The cabin defines cozy. It has all the amenities you need plus spaces to relax and unwind. The uneven floor boards only add to the charm of this place. The home is spotless. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at Laura’s cabin for a last minute getaway for our anniversary. The cabin was perfect for our needs! Walkable to coffee shop, close to downtown, and great hiking within 25 minutes. Laura also had great food recommendations and was a wonderful host. Highly recommend this stay!

Perfect stay. Cozy and comfortable cabin in a beautiful, private location... with easy access to downtown Hendersonville, Ecusta Trail, and lovely walkable neighborhoods. Cabin was clean and quiet, with plenty of amenities. I enjoyed world-class fly fishing in Pisgah Forest during my stay, along with a superb variety of great food and beer at local restaurants and breweries. Easy biking to/from craft breweries and coffee shops sweetens the deal - no car required to get around town. Parking at the property was spacious and easy, and the grounds were lovely... including the front deck with gas fire pit, and the rear patio. Overall a really great experience that beats the mundane chain hotel stay ten-times over!

It was our 2nd time staying at the Firefly Cabin and we enjoyed ourselves even more this time. The bed is so welcoming and lots of places outside to grill or just lounge with a bottle of wine. Great location and you can get anywhere quickly.

Beautiful cottage which had everything we could possibly need. Loved the record player and assorted albums. Clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We chose Firefly because it was close to Kanuga and Rock Creek, as well as Pisgah and DuPont.

So cute and cozy! This cabin is in an ideal location with the most wonderful cozy nooks throughout the property. The owners take great care having things available that you need; yoga mats, coffee maker, pods, tea, eveything you need to cook if you choose. I loved the seating area with fire pit at night to listen to the critters come alive. I will definitely stay here again. The folder with recommendations was spot on as well.

As a senior, I was searching for a place that was unique and where I could get some rest. Rustic, yet ultramodern at the same time. I Airbnb several times a year near Hendersonville. I've tried tiny homes, cabins, a barn, houses and even a yurt. Firefly was wonderful. The presence of being remote yet being so close to downtown and all Hendo has to offer was remarkable. It is quiet as are all neighbors. Very respectful neighborhood. If you can't get a good night's sleep here, please consult your physician. Hope to have the opportunity to return in the future.

Wonderful and relaxing stay. Great couples getaway when you want to be cozy yet still have options to get out and about. Very responsive hosts and such cute touches in the cabin. Dinner at Postero was the best meal we’ve had in years!

Laura is a very nice host, she welcomed us and was very responsive when asking questions However the house was not for us The outside is lovely lots of flowers And birds singing in the morning was the best part. We just did not find the house comfortable for us. The driveway needs work , very hard to drive up and down, fortunately we have a AWD SUV, a smaller car would drag. Downtown Hendersonville is within walking distance and there are some nice walking trails and bike trails available. Many good places to eat We were able to go to a nice farmers market on Saturday morning. The area is still trying to get back to normal after the Hurricane and they have done a great job. Hendersonville is a nice area.

It’s all great. The host, the home, the location, the price, it’s all great.

We had a wonderful stay! The cabin was so cozy and well decorated, I loved the little notes all over and the vintage feel. Hendersonville is a beautiful area, we will definitely be back.

Had a phenomenal weekend getaway with my wife in Hendersonville, NC and Laura's house was the perfect place to stay. Very cozy house for the two of us with plenty to do close by. Downtown was an easy 1.5 mile walk and there were plenty of hiking and nature trails within a 30 min drive. Laura was very proactive on her communication and check in was simple. We'd certainly stay there again if it was just the two of us and/or our daughter but any more than 4 people would be a tight squeeze. Loved the record player and the decor inside the house. We had a great time just relaxing in the house and on the front porch, exploring downtown, hiking, and just getting away for the weekend for some husband and wife time.

Really enjoyed this cabin, very charming & unique. So many great hiking opportunities in the area. Would stay here again if Im back in the area. We did some hiking at Dupont, visited the Carl Sandburg house , had lunch at the Book & Bee Cafe & visited the Needful things Antique Mall.

This is a beautiful location! absolutely loved everything about it. I believe that fresh gravel was placed on the road, so I had a little trouble getting into the drive, but so worth it! such an anding get away, so close to a lovely downtown!!

We LOVED everything about Laura's cabin! we rented it for the cozy feel with the wood burning fireplace! it was the perfect get away with a comfy bed, giant TV, and wonderful fireplace with all the wood we needed to warm our stay! She was super quick to respond and offers so many recommendations for the area! It was just far enough outside of Asheville for us, while staying tucked away in a private neighborhood to let us enjoy the quiet.The towel warmer and speaker in the bathroom were surprising bonuses! I didn't realize the downstairs had an extra bedroom with a full washer and dryer! so it would have been a kid friendly place too if we decide to do a family trip in the future. The backyard is also big enough for them to play on a hill. We enjoyed the record selections and spent so much time by the indoor fireplace we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor pit. maybe we'll get to that on the next trip! This might be our new anniversary spot! Thanks for everything! 10,000% recommend!

Great little cabin but not good for anyone with mobility issues. The back steps are dangerous at night with not lighting.

We enjoyed our two day stay in a well loved log cabin. The decorator had so much fun with this place! Loved the style!

I had a ford 250 truck which is a big truck and had either a 3 or 5 point turns to get in the driveway or get out and was sketchy getting out as it was a very loose gravel road with a 2' ditch on one side which I had to be VERY careful not to fall into...I would never go back here because of that and scratched my truck on a huge stump left just on the side of the driveway and also scratched the side of the truck on bushes on the side as there was really no room for my truck to fit...so going to contact Airbnb for a reimbursement for the repairs+ the road in front of the house is very very loose gravel so had to walk my bike down and up it every day as went there to train for cycling as I race all over the US...and slightly injured my calf on the rear steps as they are all different heights from 4" to about 15" as probably original steps from 100+ years ago...and only one bathroom on the 2nd story with a small sketchy winding staircase to get up there which is dangerous

The cabin is wonderful, the location is great, and was clean on our arrival. No complaints. If you’re booking here and driving back be careful with your gps, sometimes it will take you the back way over the hill which can be nerve wracking in the dark or if your car isn’t off-road capable, the road it is on isn’t paved. We had a good wonderful valentines weekend there.

I don’t have enough words to explain how incredible this home is. My mom, my sister, and I took a little girls trip here and had just the best time bonding around the fireplace. It is such a cozy and private home with two decks we enjoyed the beautiful weather on. We took a walk through a park to a coffee shop, Southern Steams, and it was just a perfect day. We even took a ride to jump off point, which just added to an already amazing trip. All this plus awesome restaurants and shopping jam packed into one area. The perfect air bnb. ♥️ We would have stayed even longer if we could have!

Highly recommend booking here if you plan on visiting Hendersonville! Laura was very responsive and I was impressed by how well-prepared the cabin was for our stay. Despite arriving on a snowy January day, we were plenty cozy. You are minutes away from downtown and a cute coffee spot is right around the corner. My husband, dog and I had an awesome time at Laura's cabin. Her place was exactly what we needed to have a relaxing time. We loved how cozy the space was -- the living room furniture was comfortable, the fireplace was a nice touch, and the blankets provided were warm and soft. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. We loved how close the cabin was to downtown and we spent a lot of time exploring. The gardens and landscaping were beautiful, even in January. It was the perfect place for a comfortable, winter mountain trip!

We enjoyed our stay at Firefly Cabin. There were several issues that should be addressed before I can rate it 5 stars, namely that the bathroom door did not close which made it rather awkward with our preteen son. In addition, most of the cabinet knobs were loose or fell off in our hands as we tried to open the doors. But, this cabin was built in the 1920s and definitely had a lot of charm!

We stayed a week at Firefly cabin and we loved it! It’s so charming and relaxing. Hours spent together as a family by the fireplace-enjoying reading, listening to records, and playing board games. The whole vibe of the cabin is calming. We wish we could have stayed even longer. We didn’t realize how much Hendersonville had been affected by Helene…many of the trails/waterfalls and surrounding forests were closed. Some stores and restaurants were also closed. However, we still had a wonderful experience and were happy we could be there to support the community and businesses that are open. If you get the chance, check out Moonshine Mountain! It was the best and so fun for our family.

I wish we could have stayed longer. This cabin was so cozy and charming. I loved the decor and style of everything. The spiral stairs are so fun. I remember loving those as a kid and it brought back great memories. We were also grateful for the dry firewood outside so that we could make a fire in the cabin. We will definitely visit again.

We loved our stay! The Firefly cabin was the perfect spot for my and my husband’s extended weekend with our baby and pup. The location is close to downtown but feels wonderfully secluded. The host’s recommendations are excellent! Marked Tree vineyard is our new favorite and Postero’s was a delicious dinner spot. A couple things to mind before booking (that other reviews have mentioned): the only bathroom is on the second story which is a slight pain but not the biggest deal, the staircase is tight and winding - so for those with some mobility issues, this might not be the preferred option, and the cabin is rustic so there are things like uneven/creaky floors and vaulted ceilings on the second story - all things we didn’t mind but are of note for potential guests. We would certainly stay again and appreciate the host’s wonderful hospitality!

The cabin was little over 1 mile from downtown which is what we were looking for. Window shopping for Christmas, eating good food and drinks was perfect. Would stay again.

I absolutely loved this cabin. I used to live in the area and it's location is great- it's convenient to what you would need, but it feels very secluded. I enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and having cozy fires in the fireplace. Laura was super attentive to answering my questions. The space was well stocked, the bed was comfy, age it felt very clean.

As long as you can handle the spiral staircase for the bathroom, this is a great little cabin. The location is excellent. The cabin itself is comfy, cute, and clean. The window A/C units were able to keep the house cool enough in August.

Great two bedroom cabin walking distance of downtown Hendersonville. Charming porch with table and outdoor seating area. Great for coffee or to read a book and just relax. Watch out for the tree stump in the driveway! Otherwise great place. Easy steps to get into the house. Bathroom is on the second level with spiral stairs so although easy to get in this is not the place for someone with mobility issues. Host provided coffee and condiments which was super. I love the little stove top espresso maker! Washer dryer available which would be nice for long stays. Comfortably furnished and host communications were easy and responsive. I would certainly recommend this place and would consider staying here again!

As a last minute get a way, we decided to go to the mountains and found Laura’s adorable cabin. It was super clean, the instructions to get inside upon arrival were clear, it was cozy and comfy and it is pet friendly! The girls ( Two 15 year old teenagers 😉) said the Bluetooth speaker in the bathroom is “Boujee” and the towel warmer is “amazing”! We really enjoyed listening to Lana Del Rey and CCR on the record player and making smores outside at the fire pit. We enjoyed our short stay and will visit again next time we are in the area! Amazing getaway spot!! Perfect place to disconnect and spend some time with nature as many parks and recreational sites are within 30 minutes away which is a shorter drive when you’ve already indulged in a road trip. The town people were also very sweet.

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location. Quiet neighborhood. Very clean with some nice amenities: fireplace, patio with furniture, hiking trail maps. It was a very nice place for me and my wife. Some things to consider. 1. The staircase is a small spiral staircase. 2. Beams in bedroom and the shower may be low for someone really tall. 3. You have to walk through the upstairs bedroom to get to the bathroom. 4. Look for the unpaved Rd sign when looking for Seneca Rd.

Really enjoyed the location of the cottage. It was conveniently located between Asheville, Brevard and DuPont. It was close enough to things, but still was quiet and wooded. I never stayed in Hendersonville before, but have In other areas nearby it was nice to be able to ride your bike downtown from the cottage.

This place is truly unique. It was hard to leave the cabin even to go see the mountains or out to dinner! It’s rustic and it feels like you in the country but it’s only a 5 minute drive to town. Looking forward to going back.

Laura was extremely easy to communicate with an accommodated an early check in at the last minute the place was adorable, and perfect for my boyfriend and I on a long weekend. Felt surprisingly private just as the pictures looked. Will definitely look forward to booking with her again!

This place is a gem. Its perfect size to enjoy being alone or with a few friends, the fire place inside, the fire pit outside, the downtown area, the quiet space. I was looking for a place my soul could rest prior to starting a new season and it did just that. I felt like I was deep in the woods with my thoughts but close enough to food for my stomach!

We booked the cabin for an anniversary getaway and it was absolutely perfect! Laura sent detailed instructions with pictures on how to get to the cabin and check-in, which made the process easy and seamless despite us arriving at night. Both my husband and I gasped when we saw the interior because it was just what we wanted: cozy, and warm. Laura went above and beyond and even left a some treats for us because it was our anniversary. Despite being located in a private area Downtown Hendersonville is just a couple minutes away, with lots of things to do. Laura sent local recommendations ahead of time, which were really helpful. I could not recommend this cabin higher!

Laura accomodated us on a last minute basis. Our contractor had an immediate opening to do some repairs in our house so I opted to stay away from the mess. The cabin was very welcoming,cozy and very peaceful. Only regret was not being able to enjoy a day off from work to fully take advantage of the cabin’s coziness! But makes a great place to recommend to visiting family and for a couples’ weekend getaway. We look forward to staying here in the near future!

Cozy little cabin! Had a great quick stay out here; located real close to a small quaint town, was a great retreat. Check-in was easy, just make sure to be confident and floor it a little on the driveway and you’ll be fineeee :)

Cozy Cabin with privacy, but walkable to a great coffee shop. Best of both worlds! The cabin was also well stocked (bikes, yoga mats, backpacks, spices, pots, etc.). Laura’s recs were wonderful! We loved the walkable coffee shop and Postero for dinner.

Our stay at the Firefly was delightful. Quietly tucked in a small community off a gravel road, it offers a nice respite from the busy world, while still being close to lots of adventure. Laura offers lists of attractions, hikes, wineries and breweries and has brochures to check things out further. The 1930’s cabin has a unique spiral staircase that leads to the master bedroom and bath. The bed is comfortable, while a warm bath after a day of hiking was very welcoming. Laura was very attentive to our queries throughout our stay.

The cottage is in a great location. Close to town but quiet and surrounded by woods. The interior is warm and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Our only real regret was the short duration of our stay. The whole ensemble of the home itself, location and general vibe really made it a wonderful time. We will definitely be booking in the future for a longer trip. 10/10 would recommend.

Wonderful cabin close to Main Street. We loved it!

This was our second time at the Firefly, and I’m already planning our third! The space is just so unbelievably cozy we didn’t want to venture out, but when he did we found Hendersonville just as charming as last time! This time we checked out Stone Ashe Winery which was GREAT, and has the added benefit of being 21+. Definitely check it out if you are looking for some adult time and nice wines!

Our stay was absolutely amazing. Never have I been in a place so inviting and squeaky clean. The setup was so neatly put together and so adorable. The place was so inviting with how much love was put into the decor and everything through out this adorable suite. Full size toiletries and the towels had a fresh scent to them and super soft. The bedding was so fluffy and soft. I would highly recommend this place hands down!

What a cute cabin! The location was very convenient to downtown Hendersonville and close to Flat Rock. We had a wonderful time at the cabin. Suggestion: park in the lower spot. It’s not that difficult to carry bags to the home that way.

We very much enjoyed our weekend at the Firefly and hope to return in the future! Everything was just as described and the pictures don’t do it justice! All the amenities you need and just a quick drive to downtown Hendersonville.

Beautiful place!

My daughter and I loved this peaceful cottage, it was super close to everything we wanted to do and the landscaping was just beautiful with all the flowers and greenery. Bed was comfortable and it was the perfect size for the two of us. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful place, quaint location, and perfect for a quiet peaceful getaway. It was the perfect place to stay for a few days and enjoy the local wineries, breweries, and coffee shops and HIKING. Just a short drive from Asheville Location 10/10 Home 10/10 Would definitely stay here again

Lovely place! It's so quiet and peaceful, nestled in the trees, yet very convenient to downtown Hendersonville. We were very glad that we stayed here and would happily return.

Laura's cabin was an absolute dream. It was cozy and warm. The cabin is close enough to dining and amenities but secluded enough to feel private and tranquil. It was the perfect place for our getaway, and we can't wait to come back. The cabin is a great compliment to the beautiful mountains and hikes in the area.

Loved everything about our stay at this cozy, adorable cabin! So much to do in the area (with plenty of suggestions from the hosts!) and Laura was proactive in contacting us to make sure our stay was nothing but excellent. Will definitely be back!

I would definitely stay here again and recommend. Host communicated quickly and the cabin was clean, accurately described and well stocked in the kitchen (pans, cooking supplies, etc). The area was beautiful. I did have a hard time parking in the spot available as I drive a high top sprinter van and the turn was tight and steep and with the trees it was hard to fit. I ended up parking on the street down the road so just fyi on that but it wouldn’t change staying here again as this is more of an fyi for large vehicles who may stay! I loved the outdoor front patio - lovely space!

Beautiful area. The only disappointment was the outdoor deck area. It looked like it had been neglected for a while. There had been a lot of rain, so that may have been the reason. Just a thought, but I believe it could use a little TLC.

We had a fantastic experience at the Firefly. Everything was clean and cozy. The hosts supplied some records and other fun things to enjoy. It was the perfect place for our anniversary getaway and has me convinced I need to move to this little cabin! ♥️

Great rustic cabin close to town with a feeling of being in a more remote setting. Best of both worlds! Also close to hiking and other outdoor activities.
